Mr. Evanson has been part of the Heideman, McKay, Heugly & Olsen, L.L.C. team for the past three years. He joined them as a clerk in 2006 and began practicing as an attorney after graduation from the University of Idaho College of Law in May, 2008. He earned his undergraduate degree from Utah State University in Liberal Arts and Sciences and Spanish, with a minor in Chemistry.
During his last semester of law school, he clerked for the Honorable Edward J. Lodge, United States District Court for the District of Idaho. While working with Judge Lodge he participated in the capital sentencing phase of the Joseph Duncan trial.
Brett enjoys playing basketball and taking advantage of the outdoor recreation activities available in Utah. While completing his undergraduate work he played rugby for BYU and was involved with the basketball program at Utah State by coaching at summer camps.
Mr. Evanson was born in Provo and raised in Malad, Idaho. He currently resides in Orem and in addition to practicing law at Heideman, McKay, Heugly & Olsen, L.L.C., he teaches biology and paralegal courses at the Utah Career College.
